Front Squats 5 sets of 3 reps
Maxed out at 125, made 2 reps of 130.

More muscle up practice. Feeling TIRED, heavy, sluggish. Going to skip the Metcon today!

Today I did a remake version of my 12 Days of Christmas WOD. I took it from the previous 47:20 down to 28:28. MUCH better (that previous one was torturous!).

1 Box Jump Burpee (20″ box)
2 Air Squats
3 Pull ups (jumped up to 7.5′ bar)
4 Handstand Push ups (1 abmat)
5 Kettlebell Swings (55#)
6 Thrusters (65#)
7 Push ups
8 Toes to Bar
9 Double Unders
10 Abmat Sit ups
11 Front Squats (65#)
12 Sumo Deadlift High Pulls (65#)

I will DEFINITELY be taking a Rest Day tomorrow. I was going to take one today, but decided to test out the Christmas WOD I came up with instead. I may regret that decision tomorrow!!!!

The WOD was as follows:

1 Hang Power Clean (85#)
2 Power Snatches (65#)
3 Front Squats (85#)
4 Clean & Jerks (85#)
5 KB Swings (55#)
6 Squat Cleans (65#)
7 Abmat Sit ups
8 Medball Tosses (15#)
9 Double Unders
10 Box Jump Burpees
11 Toes To Bar
12 Jumping Lunges

The way it works is you start with #1. Then do #2 and #1. Then do #3, #2, and #1. Then do #4, #3, #2, #1….and so on down the line. The number of reps is the number of the exercise. What I realized during the wod is that the weights were too heavy to do that many reps of. I think I’ll have to re-work the exercises because that was super TOUGH!!! It took me 47:20 to finish.

Morning Rowing WOD:
5 minute easy row
10x (30 sec fast/30 sec rest) 9-10 RPE
5 minute rest/stretch
20 minute easy row – 3-4 RPE
5 x (1:00 fast/1:00 rest) 7-9 RPE

Evening WOD:
5 rounds for time:
20 Front Squats w/ 65#
20 Box Jumps w/ 24″ box
20 Deadlifts w/ 95#
20 Burpees

rest 5-10 minutes, then 28 minute brisk walk.

The evening WOD took me 43:13 to complete. It turned out to be harder than I expected, but since it was the second WOD of the day for me that might explain why my energy was pretty low. Even so I was glad to give my upper body a break because I’ve been blasting my shoulders for the last several weeks and they are just TIRED! (I am still hurting from the Diamond Push Ups on Monday!!!)

I also am dropping a little more weight/body fat. I was down to 122.8 this morning, which I haven’t seen for awhile! I can’t wait for the body fat testing (in the water tank) on Saturday. I might fast a little tomorrow morning – depending on how hungry I am when I wake up. Then Saturday morning I’ll be doing a 5K and then working out, all before the body fat test. I’m anxious to see how much I’ve come down since the beginning of August when I was measured at 23.9%! I’m hoping for 14% but will be happy with less than 20%!

I’m not feeling too sore from The Seven Saturday and Michael-Grace Sunday, but I am tired and feel kind of low-energy. So, I went to the gym and just did the posted WOD, not pushing things or trying to go hard. I just wanted to loosen up tight muscles and do a little something.

Front Squats 5×5 @ 65# (1 minute rest between sets)
then
3 rounds for time of:
30 Kettlebell Swings (35#)
30 Diamond Push ups
30 Walking Lunges

then, rest 5 minutes, and take a brisk walk for 20 minutes.

I finished the 3 rounds in 14:03. The push ups were the hardest part. My arms are very tired from the last several weeks of heavy overhead stuff. I will be taking a break on anything overhead this week so that I can be rested up and ready for Grace on Sunday.
